O ye seed of Abraham his servant,\par\tab Ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones.


Blessed is the nation whose God is Jehovah,\par\tab The people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.


But thou, Israel, my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend,


The portion of Jacob is not like these; for he is the former of all things; and {\i Israel} is the tribe of his inheritance: Jehovah of hosts is his name.\par


And they shall be mine, saith Jehovah of hosts, {\i even} mine own possession, in the day that I make; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.


Only Jehovah had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all peoples, as at this day.


and Jehovah hath avouched thee this day to be a people for his own possession, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments;


For Jehovah's portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.


who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a people for his own possession, zealous of good works.\par


But ye are an elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for {\i God's} own possession, that ye may show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:


For Jehovah will not forsake his people for his great name's sake, because it hath pleased Jehovah to make you a people unto himself.
