Or darkness, so that thou canst not see,\par\tab And abundance of waters cover thee.\par


Stretch forth thy hand from above;\par\tab Rescue me, and deliver me out of great waters,\par\tab Out of the hand of aliens;


The cords of death compassed me,\par\tab And the floods of ungodliness made me afraid.


The cords of Sheol were round about me;\par\tab The snares of death came upon me.


For this let every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found:\par\tab Surely when the great waters overflow they shall not reach unto him.


Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterfalls:\par\tab All thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.


{\i Yet} Jehovah will command his lovingkindness in the day-time;\par\tab And in the night his song shall be with me,\par\tab {\i Even} a prayer unto the God of my life.


Let not the waterflood overwhelm me,\par\tab Neither let the deep swallow me up;\par\tab And let not the pit shut its mouth upon me.


I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing:\par\tab I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.


Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one; as a tempest of hail, a destroying storm, as a tempest of mighty waters overflowing, will he cast down to the earth with the hand.


So shall they fear the name of Jehovah from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun; for he will come as a rushing stream, which the breath of Jehovah driveth.


And after the threescore and two weeks shall the anointed one be cut off, and shall have nothing: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and even unto the end shall be war; desolations are determined.


And there came one of the seven angels that had the seven bowls, and spake with me, saying, Come hither, I will show thee the judgment of the great harlot that sitteth upon many waters;


And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the harlot sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
