Thine arrows are sharp;\par\tab The peoples fall under thee;\par\tab {\i They are} in the heart of the king's enemies.


God will likewise destroy thee for ever;\par\tab He will take thee up, and pluck thee out of thy tent,\par\tab And root thee out of the land of the living. {\i Selah


My soul is among lions;\par\tab I lie among them that are set on fire,\par\tab Even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows,\par\tab And their tongue a sharp sword.


Behold, they belch out with their mouth;\par\tab Swords are in their lips:\par\tab For who, {\i say they}, doth hear?


He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death;\par\tab He maketh his arrows fiery {\i shafts}.


He that despiseth his neighbor is void of wisdom;\par\tab But a man of understanding holdeth his peace.


The wicked earneth deceitful wages;\par\tab But he that soweth righteousness {\i hath} a sure reward.


With his mouth the godless man destroyeth his neighbor;\par\tab But through knowledge shall the righteous be delivered.


Lying lips are an abomination to Jehovah;\par\tab But they that deal truly are his delight.


A worthless man deviseth mischief;\par\tab And in his lips there is as a scorching fire.


Death and life are in the power of the tongue;\par\tab And they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.


The words of a whisperer are as dainty morsels,\par\tab And they go down into the innermost parts.


A false witness shall not be unpunished;\par\tab And he that uttereth lies shall not escape.

Therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how {\i else} should I do, because of the daughter of my people?


But for the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part shall be in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.\par
