It is not the great that are wise,\par\tab Nor the aged that understand justice.


I will set no base thing before mine eyes:\par\tab I hate the work of them that turn aside;\par\tab It shall not cleave unto me.


I understand more than the aged,\par\tab Because I have kept thy precepts.


Therefore I esteem all {\i thy} precepts concerning all {\i things} to be right; {\i And} I hate every false way.\par


I hate and abhor falsehood;\par\tab {\i But} thy law do I love.


Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law;\par\tab Yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.


Thy commandments make me wiser than mine enemies;\par\tab For they are ever with me.


He deviseth iniquity upon his bed;\par\tab He setteth himself in a way that is not good;\par\tab He abhorreth not evil.\par


O ye that love Jehovah, hate evil:\par\tab He preserveth the souls of his saints;\par\tab He delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.


There is a way which seemeth right unto a man;\par\tab But the end thereof are the ways of death.


The fear of Jehovah is to hate evil:\par\tab Pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way,\par\tab And the perverse mouth, do I hate.


Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish justice in the gate: it may be that Jehovah, the God of hosts, will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.\par


Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby.


Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
