Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord,\par\tab At the presence of the God of Jacob,


Bow thy heavens, O Jehovah, and come down:\par\tab Touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.


Our God cometh, and doth not keep silence:\par\tab A fire devoureth before him,\par\tab And it is very tempestuous round about him.


The waters saw thee, O God;\par\tab The waters saw thee, they were afraid:\par\tab The depths also trembled.


Thy way was in the sea,\par\tab And thy paths in the great waters,\par\tab And thy footsteps were not known.


And mount Sinai, the whole of it, smoked, because Jehovah descended upon it in fire; and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.


Fear ye not me? saith Jehovah: will ye not tremble at my presence, who have placed the sand for the bound of the sea, by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it? and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it.


Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? yea, it shall rise up wholly like the River; and it shall be troubled and sink again, like the River of Egypt.


The mountains saw thee, and were afraid;\par\tab The tempest of waters passed by;\par\tab The deep uttered its voice,\par\tab And lifted up its hands on high.


And a second time they say, Hallelujah. {\b And her smoke goeth up for ever and ever.}


And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat upon it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
