Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honorable, because by him Jehovah had given victory unto Syria: he was also a mighty man of valor, but he was a leper.


For I was a son unto my father,\par\tab Tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.


For jealousy is the rage of a man;\par\tab And he will not spare in the day of vengeance.


My son, keep my words,\par\tab And lay up my commandments with thee.


So she caught him, and kissed him,\par\tab {\i And} with an impudent face she said unto him:


Before the mountains were settled,\par\tab Before the hills was I brought forth;


Many waters cannot quench love,\par\tab Neither can floods drown it:\par\tab If a man would give all the substance of his house for love,\par\tab He would utterly be contemned.\par


Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, who shall not regard silver, and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.


And the mean man is bowed down, and the great man is brought low: therefore forgive them not.


Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have had respect of persons in the law.\par
