I will be surety for him; of my hand shalt thou require him: if I bring him not unto thee, and set him before thee, then let me bear the blame for ever:


Give now a pledge, be surety for me with thyself;\par\tab Who is there that will strike hands with me?


He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it;\par\tab But he that hateth suretyship is secure.


A man void of understanding striketh hands,\par\tab And becometh surety in the presence of his neighbor.
