And thy house and thy kingdom shall be made sure for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.


He hath stripped me of my glory,\par\tab And taken the crown from my head.


His seed shall endure for ever,\par\tab And his throne as the sun before me.


Thou hast abhorred the covenant of thy servant:\par\tab Thou hast profaned his crown {\i by casting it} to the ground.


Weary not thyself to be rich;\par\tab Cease from thine own wisdom.


Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not?\par\tab For {\i riches} certainly make themselves wings,\par\tab Like an eagle that flieth toward heaven.


There is a grievous evil which I have seen under the sun, {\i namely}, riches kept by the owner thereof to his hurt:


Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.\par


Say thou unto the king and to the queen-mother, Humble yourselves, sit down; for your headtires are come down, even the crown of your glory.


The crown is fallen from our head:\par\tab Woe unto us! for we have sinned.


thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Remove the mitre, and take off the crown; this {\i shall be} no more the same; exalt that which is low, and abase that which is high.


Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of Jehovah's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he will make an end, yea, a terrible end, of all them that dwell in the land.\par


and the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.


But now thy kingdom shall not continue: Jehovah hath sought him a man after his own heart, and Jehovah hath appointed him to be prince over his people, because thou hast not kept that which Jehovah commanded thee.
