The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge;\par\tab {\i But} the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.


Go into the presence of a foolish man,\par\tab And thou shalt not perceive {\i in him} the lips of knowledge.


But they held their peace, and answered him not a word; for the king's commandment was, saying, Answer him not.


Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast your pearls before the swine, lest haply they trample them under their feet, and turn and rend you.\par


And the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things; and they scoffed at him.


And many of them said, He hath a demon, and is mad; why hear ye him?


The Jews said unto him, Now we know that thou hast a demon. Abraham died, and the prophets; and thou sayest, {\cf6 If a man keep my word, he shall never taste of death.}


Those of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things, and said unto him, Are we also blind?


And certain also of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers encountered him. And some said, What would this babbler say? others, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached Jesus and the resurrection.


Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked; but others said, We will hear thee concerning this yet again.
