He becometh poor that worketh with a slack hand;\par\tab But the hand of the diligent maketh rich.


He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread;\par\tab But he that followeth after vain {\i persons} is void of understanding.


The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing;\par\tab But the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.


Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep;\par\tab And the idle soul shall suffer hunger.


It is bad, it is bad, saith the buyer;\par\tab But when he is gone his way, then he boasteth.


He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread;\par\tab But he that followeth after vain {\i persons} shall have poverty enough.


She riseth also while it is yet night,\par\tab And giveth food to her household,\par\tab And their task to her maidens.


So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish not.

And this, knowing the season, that already it is time for you to awake out of sleep: for now is salvation nearer to us than when we {\i first} believed.


Awake to soberness righteously, and sin not; for some have no knowledge of God: I speak {\i this} to move you to shame.\par


Wherefore {\i he} saith, Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine upon thee.\par


For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, If any will not work, neither let him eat.
