Then Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, I will be king: and he prepared him chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.


Pride {\i goeth} before destruction,\par\tab And a haughty spirit before a fall.


The beginning of strife is {\i as} when one letteth out water:\par\tab Therefore leave off contention, before there is quarrelling.


Before destruction the heart of man is haughty;\par\tab And before honor {\i goeth} humility.
