A fool's vexation is presently known;\par\tab But a prudent man concealeth shame.


A good man shall obtain favor of Jehovah;\par\tab But a man of wicked devices will he condemn.


A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil;\par\tab But the fool beareth himself insolently, and is confident.


The simple inherit folly;\par\tab But the prudent are crowned with knowledge.


He that is slow to anger is of great understanding;\par\tab But he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.


A wrathful man stirreth up contention;\par\tab But he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.


He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty;\par\tab And he that ruleth his spirit, than he that taketh a city.


It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife;\par\tab But every fool will be quarrelling.


Make no friendship with a man that is given to anger;\par\tab And with a wrathful man thou shalt not go:


An angry man stirreth up strife,\par\tab And a wrathful man aboundeth in transgression.


A heart that deviseth wicked purposes,\par\tab Feet that are swift in running to mischief,


Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry; for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.


And the instruments of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the meek with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.


Ye know {\i this}, my beloved brethren. But let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
