There is that speaketh rashly like the piercings of a sword;\par\tab But the tongue of the wise is health.


A true witness delivereth souls;\par\tab But he that uttereth lies {\i causeth} deceit.


A faithful witness will not lie;\par\tab But a false witness uttereth lies.


A worthless witness mocketh at justice;\par\tab And the mouth of the wicked swalloweth iniquity.


A false witness shall not be unpunished;\par\tab And he that uttereth lies shall not escape.


A false witness shall perish;\par\tab But the man that heareth shall speak so as to endure.


Be not a witness against thy neighbor without cause;\par\tab And deceive not with thy lips.

For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, railings:


Now the chief priests and the whole council sought false witness against Jesus, that they might put him to death;


and set up false witnesses, who said, This man ceaseth not to speak words against this holy place, and the law:


having a good conscience; that, wherein ye are spoken against, they may be put to shame who revile your good manner of life in Christ.
