and Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.


And Esau dwelt in mount Seir: Esau is Edom.


And these are the generations of Esau the father of the Edomites in mount Seir:


Remember, O Jehovah, against the children of Edom\par\tab The day of Jerusalem;\par\tab Who said, Rase it, rase it,\par\tab Even to the foundation thereof.


The burden of Dumah.\par\tab One calleth unto me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?


The watchman said, The morning cometh, and also the night: if ye will inquire, inquire ye: turn ye, come.\par


For their princes are at Zoan, and their ambassadors are come to Hanes.


Then took I the cup at Jehovah's hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom Jehovah had sent me:


Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon;


And let not your heart faint, neither fear ye for the tidings that shall be heard in the land; for tidings shall come one year, and after that in another year {\i shall come} tidings, and violence in the land, ruler against ruler.


Moreover the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,


Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence done to the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.


The breaker is gone up before them: they have broken forth and passed on to the gate, and are gone out thereat; and their king is passed on before them, and Jehovah at the head of them.\par


And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that ye be not troubled: for {\i it} must needs come to pass; but the end is not yet.
