And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.


Jehovah our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us;


And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart against turning unto Jehovah, the God of Israel.


For we are bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended lovingkindness unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the ruins thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.


Nevertheless in thy manifold mercies thou didst not make a full end of them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God.\par


They soon forgat his works;\par\tab They waited not for his counsel,


Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt;\par\tab They remembered not the multitude of thy lovingkindnesses,\par\tab But were rebellious at the sea, even at the Red Sea.


But there is forgiveness with thee,\par\tab That thou mayest be feared.


They kept not the covenant of God,\par\tab And refused to walk in his law;


And they forgat his doings,\par\tab And his wondrous works that he had showed them.


But he, being merciful, forgave {\i their} iniquity, and destroyed {\i them} not:\par\tab Yea, many a time turned he his anger away,\par\tab And did not stir up all his wrath.


But thou, O Lord, art a God merciful and gracious,\par\tab Slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness and truth.


For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive,\par\tab And abundant in lovingkindness unto all them that call upon thee.


And Jehovah said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:


Because I have called, and ye have refused;\par\tab I have stretched out my hand, and no man hath regarded;


For my people have forgotten me, they have burned incense to false {\i gods}; and they have been made to stumble in their ways, in the ancient paths, to walk in bypaths, in a way not cast up;


Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, Behold, I will bring upon this city and upon all its towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it; because they have made their neck stiff, that they may not hear my words.\par


yet they hearkened not unto me, nor inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff: they did worse than their fathers.\par


And she hath rebelled against mine ordinances in doing wickedness more than the nations, and against my statutes more than the countries that are round about her; for they have rejected mine ordinances, and as for my statutes, they have not walked in them.


To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgiveness; for we have rebelled against him;


and rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto Jehovah your God; for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness, and repenteth him of the evil.


And yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them; for I am Jehovah their God;


Jehovah is slow to anger, and great in power, and will by no means clear {\i the guilty}: Jehovah hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.


And Jehovah said unto Moses, How long will this people despise me? and how long will they not believe in me, for all the signs which I have wrought among them?


And Moses said, Wherefore now do ye transgress the commandment of Jehovah, seeing it shall not prosper?


Moreover thou hast not brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, nor given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? we will not come up.


to whom our fathers would not be obedient, but thrust him from them, and turned back in their hearts unto Egypt,


For he saith to Moses, {\b I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.}


See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not when they refused him that warned {\i them} on earth, much more {\i shall not} we {\i escape} who turn away from him that {\i warneth} from heaven:


For Jehovah will not forsake his people for his great name's sake, because it hath pleased Jehovah to make you a people unto himself.
