These sought their register {\i among} those that were reckoned by genealogy, but they were not found: therefore were they deemed polluted and put from the priesthood.


Blessed be Jehovah, the God of our fathers, who hath put such a thing as this in the king's heart, to beautify the house of Jehovah which is in Jerusalem;


Remember unto me, O my God, for good, all that I have done for this people.\par


Remember, O my God, Tobiah and Sanballat according to these their works, and also the prophetess Noadiah, and the rest of the prophets, that would have put me in fear.\par


Now the city was wide and large; but the people were few therein, and the houses were not builded.\par

not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God;


But thanks be to God, who putteth the same earnest care for you into the heart of Titus.


whereunto I labor also, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.\par
