And he set himself to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the vision of God: and as long as he sought Jehovah, God made him to prosper.\par


But Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the heads of fathers' {\i houses} of Israel, said unto them, Ye have nothing to do with us in building a house unto our God; but we ourselves together will build unto Jehovah, the God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia hath commanded us.


And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days; and I fasted and prayed before the God of heaven,


Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.


All the king's servants, and the people of the king's provinces, do know, that whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the king into the inner court, who is not called, there is one law for him, that he be put to death, except those to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre, that he may live: but I have not been called to come in unto the king these thirty days.


He hath regarded the prayer of the destitute,\par\tab And hath not despised their prayer.


Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:\par\tab They shall prosper that love thee.


We will triumph in thy salvation,\par\tab And in the name of our God we will set up our banners:\par\tab Jehovah fulfil all thy petitions.


Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favor my righteous cause:\par\tab Yea, let them say continually, Jehovah be magnified,\par\tab Who hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.


Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion:\par\tab Build thou the walls of Jerusalem.


And Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the breastplate of judgment upon his heart, when he goeth in unto the holy place, for a memorial before Jehovah continually.


It is good that thou shouldest take hold of this; yea, also from that withdraw not thy hand: for he that feareth God shall come forth from them all.\par


Unto them will I give in my house and within my walls a memorial and a name better than of sons and of daughters; I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.\par


and he shall bring it to Aaron's sons the priests; and he shall take thereout his handful of the fine flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof. And the priest shall burn it as the memorial thereof upon the altar, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto Jehovah:


And thou shalt put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may be to the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire unto Jehovah.


And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of Jehovah.


Also in the day of your gladness, and in your set feasts, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow the trumpets over your burnt-offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace-offerings; and they shall be to you for a memorial before your God: I am Jehovah your God.


and saith, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.


And he, fastening his eyes upon him, and being affrighted, said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are gone up for a memorial before God.


Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right before God.
