Now therefore let your hands be strong, and be ye valiant; for Saul your lord is dead, and also the house of Judah have anointed me king over them.


Now these are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who showed themselves strong with him in his kingdom, together with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of Jehovah concerning Israel.


Be of good courage, and let us play the man for our people, and for the cities of our God: and Jehovah do that which seemeth him good.


And he took courage, and built up all the wall that was broken down, and raised {\i it} up to the towers, and the other wall without, and strengthened Millo {\i in} the city of David, and made weapons and shields in abundance.


and kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy: for Jehovah had made them joyful, and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria unto them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.\par


and a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the castle which appertaineth to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might.


for it is God who worketh in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.


And Jonathan, Saul's son, arose, and went to David into the wood, and strengthened his hand in God.
