and he said, O Jehovah, the God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath; who keepest covenant and lovingkindness with thy servants, that walk before thee with all their heart;


And what one nation in the earth is like thy people Israel, whom God went to redeem unto himself for a people, to make thee a name by great and terrible things, in driving out nations from before thy people, whom thou redeemedest out of Egypt?


Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath Jehovah, the God of heaven, given me; and he hath charged me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.


Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.


And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, who is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.\par


and they conspired all of them together to come and fight against Jerusalem, and to cause confusion therein.


Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keepest covenant and lovingkindness, let not all the travail seem little before thee, that hath come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day.


For Jehovah Most High is terrible;\par\tab He is a great King over all the earth.


Thou didst cause sentence to be heard from heaven;\par\tab The earth feared, and was still,


For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever;\par\tab Thy faithfulness wilt thou establish in the very heavens.\par


I have made a covenant with my chosen,\par\tab I have sworn unto David my servant:


O Jehovah God of hosts,\par\tab Who is a mighty one, like unto thee, O Jehovah?\par\tab And thy faithfulness is round about thee.


and showing lovingkindness unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.


And it shall come to pass, because ye hearken to these ordinances, and keep and do them, that Jehovah thy God will keep with thee the covenant and the lovingkindness which he sware unto thy fathers:


Thou shalt not be affrighted at them; for Jehovah thy God is in the midst of thee, a great God and a terrible.


Know therefore that Jehovah thy God, he is God, the faithful God, who keepeth covenant and lovingkindness with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations,
