For he hath broken the gates of brass,\par\tab And cut the bars of iron in sunder.


For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates;\par\tab He hath blessed thy children within thee.


In that day shall the Egyptians be like unto women; and they shall tremble and fear because of the shaking of the hand of Jehovah of hosts, which he shaketh over them.


A sword is upon the boasters, and they shall become fools; a sword is upon her mighty men, and they shall be dismayed.


A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is upon her treasures, and they shall be robbed.


The mighty men of Babylon have forborne to fight, they remain in their strongholds; their might hath failed; they are become as women: her dwelling-places are set on fire; her bars are broken.


And thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one may be cut off from the mount of Esau by slaughter.\par


The gates of the rivers are opened, and the palace is dissolved.


And it is decreed: she is uncovered, she is carried away; and her handmaids moan as with the voice of doves, beating upon their breasts.\par


There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off; it shall devour thee like the canker-worm: make thyself many as the canker-worm; make thyself many as the locust.
