I will say unto God, Do not condemn me;\par\tab Show me wherefore thou contendest with me.


For he performeth that which is appointed for me:\par\tab And many such things are with him.


Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth:\par\tab Therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty.


Whoso is wise will give heed to these things;\par\tab And they will consider the lovingkindnesses of Jehovah.


As is thy name, O God,\par\tab So is thy praise unto the ends of the earth:\par\tab Thy right hand is full of righteousness.


That they may know that thou alone, whose name is Jehovah,\par\tab Art the Most High over all the earth.\par

A prudent man seeth the evil, and hideth himself;\par\tab But the simple pass on, and suffer for it.


Jehovah, thy hand is lifted up, yet they see not: but they shall see {\i thy} zeal for the people, and be put to shame; yea, fire shall devour thine adversaries.


For the fortified city is solitary, a habitation deserted and forsaken, like the wilderness: there shall the calf feed, and there shall he lie down, and consume the branches thereof.


Behold, the name of Jehovah cometh from far, burning with his anger, and in thick rising smoke: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue is as a devouring fire;


A voice of tumult from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of Jehovah that rendereth recompense to his enemies.\par


Yet the people have not turned unto him that smote them, neither have they sought Jehovah of hosts.


Micah the Morashtite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah; and he spake to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Zion shall be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.


then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.


How canst thou be quiet, seeing Jehovah hath given thee a charge? Against Ashkelon, and against the sea-shore, there hath he appointed it.\par


And mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: I will bring upon thee according to thy ways; and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I, Jehovah, do smite.\par


Samaria shall bear her guilt; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword; their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.\par


Who is wise, that he may understand these things? prudent, that he may know them? for the ways of Jehovah are right, and the just shall walk in them; but transgressors shall fall therein.\par


But I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.\par


Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and to them that are secure in the mountain of Samaria, the notable men of the chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel come!


Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.\par


Are there yet treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and a scant measure that is abominable?


He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth Jehovah require of thee, but to do justly, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with thy God?\par


She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in Jehovah; she drew not near to her God.


As many as I love, I reprove and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
