When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, {\i then} cometh the evil {\i one}, and snatcheth away that which hath been sown in his heart. This is he that was sown by the way side.


and the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom; and the tares are the sons of the evil {\i one};


For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, railings:


Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, for thou canst not make one hair white or black.


And bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil {\i one}.


I pray not that thou shouldest take them from the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil {\i one}.


Ye are of {\i your} father the devil, and the lusts of your father it is your will to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and standeth not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father thereof.


Wherefore, putting away falsehood, {\b speak ye truth each one with his neighbor}: for we are members one of another.


withal taking up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil {\i one}.

Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer each one.\par
