Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: as for me, it was in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and for the footstool of our God; and I had made ready for the building.


And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to Jehovah: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before Jehovah, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.\par


And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their faces to the earth, and lick the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am Jehovah; and they that wait for me shall not be put to shame.\par


And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, that owed him ten thousand talents.


In like manner he that {\i received} the two gained other two.


And he called ten servants of his, and gave them ten pounds, and said unto them, Trade ye {\i herewith} till I come.


For David, after he had in his own generation served the counsel of God, fell asleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:


But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not found vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.


The husbandman that laboreth must be the first to partake of the fruits.
