At that season Jesus answered and said, {\cf6 I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou didst hide these things from the wise and understanding, and didst reveal them unto babes:


the {\b blind receive their sight,} and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the {\b poor have good tidings preached to them.}


And when the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.


And when they sought to lay hold on him, they feared the multitudes, because they took him for a prophet.\par


and they could not find what they might do; for the people all hung upon him, listening.\par


And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, to hear him.\par


The common people therefore of the Jews learned that he was there: and they came, not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.


whose are the fathers, and of whom is Christ as concerning the flesh, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.\par


And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness; He who was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the spirit, Seen of angels, Preached among the nations, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.\par


Hearken, my beloved brethren; did not God choose them that are poor as to the world {\i to be} rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to them that love him?


{\cf6 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright, the morning star.}\par
