For in the hand of Jehovah there is a cup, and the wine foameth;\par\tab It is full of mixture, and he poureth out of the same:\par\tab Surely the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall drain them, and drink them.


Thus saith thy Lord Jehovah, and thy God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thy hand the cup of staggering, even the bowl of the cup of my wrath; thou shalt no more drink it again:


For thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, unto me: Take this cup of the wine of wrath at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.


And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not; for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith Jehovah; but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.\par


And he went forward a little, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, {\cf6 My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass away from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.}


and they were baptized of him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.


And he said, {\cf6 Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; remove this cup from me: howbeit not what I will, but what thou wilt.}


But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!


saying, {\cf6 Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me; nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.}


Jesus therefore said unto Peter, {\cf6 Put up the sword into the sheath: the cup which the Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?}\par


And in like manner the Spirit also helpeth our infirmity: for we know not how to pray as we ought; but the Spirit himself maketh intercession for {\i us} with groanings which cannot be uttered;


Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may spend {\i it} in your pleasures.
