Shall even one that hateth justice govern?\par\tab And wilt thou condemn him that is righteous {\i and} mighty?—


Would that Job were tried unto the end,\par\tab Because of his answering like wicked men.


But thou art full of the judgment of the wicked:\par\tab Judgment and justice take hold {\i on thee}.


The earth is given into the hand of the wicked;\par\tab He covereth the faces of the judges thereof:\par\tab If {\i it be} not {\i he}, who then is it?\par


Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.


Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth; they are a trouble unto me; I am weary of bearing them.


Woe unto them that hide deep their counsel from Jehovah, and whose works are in the dark, and that say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?


And therefore will Jehovah wait, that he may be gracious unto you; and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for Jehovah is a God of justice; blessed are all they that wait for him.


Yet thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel.


Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices; but thou hast burdened me with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities.\par


And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David: Is it a small thing for you to weary men, that ye will weary my God also?


Righteous art thou, O Jehovah, when I contend with thee; yet would I reason the cause with thee: wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they at ease that deal very treacherously?


Thou hast rejected me, saith Jehovah, thou art gone backward: therefore have I stretched out my hand against thee, and destroyed thee; I am weary with repenting.


Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of Jehovah? let it come now.


so that Jehovah could not longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land become a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without inhabitant, as it is this day.


Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast raged against me in all these things; therefore, behold, I also will bring thy way upon thy head, saith the Lord Jehovah: and thou shalt not commit this lewdness with all thine abominations.\par


Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel: Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?


Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in his chambers of imagery? for they say, Jehovah seeth us not; Jehovah hath forsaken the land.


Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of wresting {\i of judgment}: for they say, Jehovah hath forsaken the land, and Jehovah seeth not.


Behold, I will press {\i you} in your place, as a cart presseth that is full of sheaves.


And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with lamps; and I will punish the men that are settled on their lees, that say in their heart, Jehovah will not do good, neither will he do evil.


Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because Jehovah hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously, though she is thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.


Will a man rob God? yet ye rob me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.


The Rock, his work is perfect; For all his ways are justice: A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, Just and right is he.


Talk no more so exceeding proudly; Let not arrogancy come out of your mouth; For Jehovah is a God of knowledge, And by him actions are weighed.
