and the priests killed them, and they made a sin-offering with their blood upon the altar, to make atonement for all Israel; for the king commanded {\i that} the burnt-offering and the sin-offering {\i should be made} for all Israel.\par


Yet it pleased Jehovah to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see {\i his} seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Jehovah shall prosper in his hand.


And Moses diligently sought the goat of the sin-offering, and, behold, it was burnt: and he was angry with Eleazar and with Ithamar, the sons of Aaron that were left, saying,


And he washed the inwards and the legs, and burnt them upon the burnt-offering on the altar.


And unto the children of Israel thou shalt speak, saying, Take ye a he-goat for a sin-offering; and a calf and a lamb, both a year old, without blemish, for a burnt-offering;


Him who knew no sin he made {\i to be} sin on our behalf; that we might become the righteousness of God in him.\par


who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a people for his own possession, zealous of good works.\par


Wherefore it behooved him in all things to be made like unto his brethren, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.


and by reason thereof is bound, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.
