Wherefore should the nations say, Where is their God?\par\tab Let the avenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed Be known among the nations in our sight.


Therefore shall all hands be feeble, and every heart of man shall melt:


Pour out thy wrath upon the nations that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have devoured Jacob, yea, they have devoured him and consumed him, and have laid waste his habitation.\par


Yet, Jehovah, thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay me; forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from thy sight; but let them be overthrown before thee; deal thou with them in the time of thine anger.\par


Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that despoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.


The violence done to me and to my flesh be upon Babylon, shall the inhabitant of Zion say; and, My blood be upon the inhabitants of Chaldea, shall Jerusalem say.


Oh that I could comfort myself against sorrow! my heart is faint within me.


From on high hath he sent fire into my bones, and it prevaileth against them;\par\tab He hath spread a net for my feet, he hath turned me back:\par\tab He hath made me desolate and faint all the day.


For this our heart is faint;\par\tab For these things our eyes are dim;


For if they do these things in the green tree, what shall be done in the dry?}\par


Wherefore I ask that ye may not faint at my tribulations for you, which are your glory.\par
