And Hezekiah the king, and Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz, prayed because of this, and cried to heaven.


For they gat not the land in possession by their own sword,\par\tab Neither did their own arm save them;\par\tab But thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance,\par\tab Because thou wast favorable unto them.


My righteousness is near, my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the peoples; the isles shall wait for me, and on mine arm shall they trust.


Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of Jehovah; awake, as in the days of old, the generations of ancient times. Is it not thou that didst cut Rahab in pieces, that didst pierce the monster?


Who hath believed our message? and to whom hath the arm of Jehovah been revealed?


Ye hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,


And Jesus answered and said unto him, {\cf6 Blessed art thou, Simon Barjonah: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father who is in heaven.


And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments among them, casting lots;


But though he had done so many signs before them, yet they believed not on him:


For this cause they could not believe, for that Isaiah said again,


But {\i this cometh to pass}, that the word may be fulfilled that is written in their law, {\b They hated me without a cause.}


While I was with them, I kept them in thy name which thou hast given me: and I guarded them, and not one of them perished, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.


They said therefore one to another, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith,\par\tab {\b They parted my garments among them,\par\tab And upon my vesture did they cast lots.}


But they did not all hearken to the glad tidings. For Isaiah saith, {\b Lord, who hath believed our report?}


And Isaiah is very bold, and saith,\par\tab {\b I was found of them that sought me not;\par\tab I became manifest unto them that asked not of me.}


but unto them that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.


to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles; straightway I conferred not with flesh and blood:
