Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou commandedst thy servant Moses, saying, If ye trespass, I will scatter you abroad among the peoples:


Are not my days few? cease then,\par\tab And let me alone, that I may take comfort a little,


Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast fashioned me as clay;\par\tab And wilt thou bring me into dust again?


I loathe {\i my life}; I would not live alway:\par\tab Let me alone; for my days are vanity.


Now my days are swifter than a post:\par\tab They flee away, they see no good,


Surely every man walketh in a vain show;\par\tab Surely they are disquieted in vain:\par\tab He heapeth up {\i riches}, and knoweth not who shall gather them.


Many there are that say,\par\tab Who will show us {\i any} good?\par\tab Jehovah, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.


Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O Jehovah,\par\tab And that a foolish people hath blasphemed thy name.


Arise, O God, plead thine own cause:\par\tab Remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee all the day.


And he remembered that they were but flesh,\par\tab A wind that passeth away, and cometh not again.


Oh remember how short my time is:\par\tab For what vanity hast thou created all the children of men!


Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants;\par\tab How I do bear in my bosom {\i the reproach of} all the mighty peoples,


O Jehovah, thou knowest; remember me, and visit me, and avenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered reproach.


whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. What is your life? For ye are a vapor that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
