When he made a decree for the rain,\par\tab And a way for the lightning of the thunder;


For he draweth up the drops of water,\par\tab Which distil in rain from his vapor,


Which the skies pour down\par\tab And drop upon man abundantly.


For he saith to the snow, Fall thou on the earth;\par\tab Likewise to the shower of rain,\par\tab And to the showers of his mighty rain.


Who covereth the heavens with clouds,\par\tab Who prepareth rain for the earth,\par\tab Who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.


Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain,\par\tab Thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.


When he uttereth his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasuries.


Are there any among the vanities of the nations that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O Jehovah our God? therefore we will wait for thee; for thou hast made all these things.\par


Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear Jehovah our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in its season; that preserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.


And I also have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest; and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.


And yet he left not himself without witness, in that he did good and gave you from heaven rains and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness.
