Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,


I have heard the reproof which putteth me to shame;\par\tab And the spirit of my understanding answereth me.


If one assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved?\par\tab But who can withhold himself from speaking?


I said in my haste,\par\tab All men are liars.


As for me, I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes:\par\tab Nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications,\par\tab When I cried unto thee.


He that is slow to anger is of great understanding;\par\tab But he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.


Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words?\par\tab There is more hope of a fool than of him.


Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry; for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.


And if I say, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name, then there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with forbearing, and I cannot {\i contain}.


And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou forthwith give me on a platter the head of John the Baptist.


For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.


Ye know {\i this}, my beloved brethren. But let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
