Then I sent unto him, saying, There are no such things done as thou sayest, but thou feignest them out of thine own heart.


I have heard many such things:\par\tab Miserable comforters are ye all.


Behold, all ye yourselves have seen it;\par\tab Why then are ye become altogether vain?\par


My brethren have dealt deceitfully as a brook,\par\tab As the channel of brooks that pass away;


They were put to shame because they had hoped;\par\tab They came thither, and were confounded.


For now ye are nothing;\par\tab Ye see a terror, and are afraid.


The proud have forged a lie against me:\par\tab With my whole heart will I keep thy precepts.


Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.


Behold, I am against them that prophesy lying dreams, saith Jehovah, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their vain boasting: yet I sent them not, nor commanded them; neither do they profit this people at all, saith Jehovah.\par


There is none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines.


Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin daughter of Egypt: in vain dost thou use many medicines; there is no healing for thee.


They have healed also the hurt of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.


Is there no balm in Gilead? is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?\par


The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought back that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with rigor have ye ruled over them.


When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah {\i saw} his wound, then went Ephraim to Assyria, and sent to king Jareb: but he is not able to heal you, neither will he cure you of your wound.
