If I be wicked, woe unto me;\par\tab And if I be righteous, yet shall I not lift up my head;\par\tab Being filled with ignominy,\par\tab And looking upon mine affliction.


For thou sayest, My doctrine is pure,\par\tab And I am clean in thine eyes.


Behold now, I have set my cause in order;\par\tab I know that I am righteous.


But he knoweth the way that I take;\par\tab When he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.


My foot hath held fast to his steps;\par\tab His way have I kept, and turned not aside.


For {\i God} shall hurl at him, and not spare:\par\tab He would fain flee out of his hand.


What then shall I do when God riseth up?\par\tab And when he visiteth, what shall I answer him?


Oh that I had one to hear me!\par\tab (Lo, here is my signature, let the Almighty answer me)\par\tab And {\i that I had} the indictment which mine adversary hath written!


(Let me be weighed in an even balance,\par\tab That God may know mine integrity);


So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.


I am clean, without transgression;\par\tab I am innocent, neither is there iniquity in me:


Wilt thou even annul my judgment?\par\tab Wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be justified?


And it was so, that, after Jehovah had spoken these words unto Job, Jehovah said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends; for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.


Behold, he seizeth {\i the prey}, who can hinder him?\par\tab Who will say unto him, What doest thou?\par


I am perfect; I regard not myself;\par\tab I despise my life.


It is all one; therefore I say,\par\tab He destroyeth the perfect and the wicked.


For Jehovah knoweth the way of the righteous;\par\tab But the way of the wicked shall perish.\par


Thou hast proved my heart; thou hast visited me in the night;\par\tab Thou hast tried me, and findest nothing;\par\tab I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.


Now consider this, ye that forget God,\par\tab Lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver:


O Jehovah my God, if I have done this;\par\tab If there be iniquity in my hands;


Yea, since the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who can hinder it?\par


Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of music, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made, {\i well}: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that god that shall deliver you out of my hands?


And now will I uncover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of my hand.


For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will carry off, and there shall be none to deliver.


He saith unto him the third time, {\cf6 Simon, {\i son} of John, lovest thou me?} Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, {\cf6 Lovest thou me?} And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, {\cf6 Feed my sheep.


For our glorying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.


See now that I, even I, am he, And there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal; And there is none that can deliver out of my hand.


Ye are witnesses, and God {\i also}, how holily and righteously and unblamably we behaved ourselves toward you that believe:


The Mighty One, God, Jehovah, the Mighty One, God, Jehovah, he knoweth; and Israel he shall know: if it be in rebellion, or if in trespass against Jehovah (save thou us not this day,)
