Thy hands have framed me and fashioned me\par\tab Together round about; yet thou dost destroy me.


Thou wouldest call, and I would answer thee:\par\tab Thou wouldest have a desire to the work of thy hands.


That against God thou turnest thy spirit,\par\tab And lettest words go out of thy mouth?


God delivereth me to the ungodly,\par\tab And casteth me into the hands of the wicked.


Know now that God hath subverted me {\i in my cause},\par\tab And hath compassed me with his net.\par


Lo, their prosperity is not in their hand:\par\tab The counsel of the wicked is far from me.\par


Yet he filled their houses with good things:\par\tab But the counsel of the wicked is far from me.


As God liveth, who hath taken away my right,\par\tab And the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul:


Thou art turned to be cruel to me;\par\tab With the might of thy hand thou persecutest me.


Did not he that made me in the womb make him?\par\tab And did not one fashion us in the womb?\par


The Spirit of God hath made me,\par\tab And the breath of the Almighty giveth me life.


Shall he that cavilleth contend with the Almighty?\par\tab He that argueth with God, let him answer it.\par


Wilt thou even annul my judgment?\par\tab Wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be justified?


Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man,\par\tab Neither will he uphold the evil-doers.


It is all one; therefore I say,\par\tab He destroyeth the perfect and the wicked.


The earth is given into the hand of the wicked;\par\tab He covereth the faces of the judges thereof:\par\tab If {\i it be} not {\i he}, who then is it?\par


Know ye that Jehovah, he is God:\par\tab It is he that hath made us, and we are his;\par\tab We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.


Jehovah will perfect that which concerneth me:\par\tab Thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, {\i endureth} for ever;\par\tab Forsake not the works of thine own hands.


For Jehovah heareth the needy,\par\tab And despiseth not his prisoners.


But now, O Jehovah, thou art our Father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.


Wherefore let them also that suffer according to the will of God commit their souls in well-doing unto a faithful Creator.\par
