And Abimelech charged all the people, saying, He that toucheth this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.


And Jehovah said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thy hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of Jehovah.\par


and he said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: Jehovah gave, and Jehovah hath taken away; blessed be the name of Jehovah.


And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt-offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and renounced God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.\par


Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends;\par\tab For the hand of God hath touched me.


And Jehovah said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job? for there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and turneth away from evil: and he still holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.


But put forth thy hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will renounce thee to thy face.


And Jehovah said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thy hand; only spare his life.\par


So Satan went forth from the presence of Jehovah, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.


Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still hold fast thine integrity? renounce God, and die.


But now it is come unto thee, and thou faintest;\par\tab It toucheth thee, and thou art troubled.


{\i Saying}, Touch not mine anointed ones,\par\tab And do my prophets no harm.


Therefore is the anger of Jehovah kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them; and the mountains tremble, and their dead bodies are as refuse in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.\par


a people that provoke me to my face continually, sacrificing in gardens, and burning incense upon bricks;


And they shall pass through it, sore distressed and hungry; and it shall come to pass that, when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse by their king and by their God, and turn their faces upward:


For thus saith Jehovah of hosts: After glory hath he sent me unto the nations which plundered you; for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.


And I heard a great voice in heaven, saying,\par\tab Now is come the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accuseth them before our God day and night.


and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores; and they repented not of their works.\par


And great hail, {\i every stone} about the weight of a talent, cometh down out of heaven upon men: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof is exceeding great.\par


And men were scorched with great heat: and they blasphemed the name of God who hath the power over these plagues; and they repented not to give him glory.\par
