For though Jehovah is high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly;\par\tab But the haughty he knoweth from afar.


Before destruction the heart of man is haughty;\par\tab And before honor {\i goeth} humility.


The proud and haughty man, scoffer is his name;\par\tab He worketh in the arrogance of pride.


There is a generation, oh how lofty are their eyes!\par\tab And their eyelids are lifted up.


The fear of Jehovah is to hate evil:\par\tab Pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way,\par\tab And the perverse mouth, do I hate.


And I will punish the world for {\i their} evil, and the wicked for their iniquity: and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.


We have heard of the pride of Moab, {\i that} he is very proud; even of his arrogancy, and his pride, and his wrath; his boastings are nought.


Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven; for all his works are truth, and his ways justice; and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.\par


For every one that exalteth himself shall be humbled; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.}\par


But he giveth more grace. Wherefore {\i the scripture} saith, {\b God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.}
