And he saw a resting-place that it was good, And the land that it was pleasant; And he bowed his shoulder to bear, And became a servant under taskwork.


And Gedaliah sware to them and to their men, and said unto them, Fear not because of the servants of the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.


For thou shalt eat the labor of thy hands:\par\tab Happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.


Trust in Jehovah, and do good;\par\tab Dwell in the land, and feed on {\i his} faithfulness.


But the nation that shall bring their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, that {\i nation} will I let remain in their own land, saith Jehovah; and they shall till it, and dwell therein.\par


How doth the city sit solitary, that was full of people!\par\tab She is become as a widow, that was great among the nations!\par\tab She that was a princess among the provinces is become tributary!


We get our bread at the peril of our lives,\par\tab Because of the sword of the wilderness.
