and Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his officers: and the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign.


And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon; and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his officers, and the chief men of the land, carried he into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.


And the sons of Jehoiakim: Jeconiah his son, Zedekiah his son.


Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah.


Set me as a seal upon thy heart,\par\tab As a seal upon thine arm:\par\tab For love is strong as death;\par\tab Jealousy is cruel as Sheol;\par\tab The flashes thereof are flashes of fire,\par\tab A very flame of Jehovah.


Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.


Say thou unto the king and to the queen-mother, Humble yourselves, sit down; for your headtires are come down, even the crown of your glory.


Is this man Coniah a despised broken vessel? is he a vessel wherein none delighteth? wherefore are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into the land which they know not?


For thus saith Jehovah concerning the house of the king of Judah: Thou art Gilead unto me, {\i and} the head of Lebanon; {\i yet} surely I will make thee a wilderness, {\i and} cities which are not inhabited.


Jehovah showed me, and, behold, two baskets of figs set before the temple of Jehovah, after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the craftsmen and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.


and I will bring again to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah, that went to Babylon, saith Jehovah; for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.\par


(after that Jeconiah the king, and the queen-mother, and the eunuchs, {\i and} the princes of Judah and Jerusalem, and the craftsmen, and the smiths, were departed from Jerusalem),


And Zedekiah the son of Josiah reigned as king, instead of Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon made king in the land of Judah.


In that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith Jehovah, and will make thee as a signet; for I have chosen thee, saith Jehovah of hosts.\par
