He is green before the sun,\par\tab And his shoots go forth over his garden.


But as for me, I am like a green olive-tree in the house of God:\par\tab I trust in the lovingkindness of God for ever and ever.


It is burned with fire, it is cut down:\par\tab They perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.


Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand,\par\tab Upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.


For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult;\par\tab And they that hate thee have lifted up the head.


When the boughs thereof are withered, they shall be broken off; the women shall come, and set them on fire; for it is a people of no understanding: therefore he that made them will not have compassion upon them, and he that formed them will show them no favor.\par


Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate branches of a foreign vine unto me?


And I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings, saith Jehovah; and I will kindle a fire in her forest, and it shall devour all that is round about her.\par


Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, mine anger and my wrath shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.\par


His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive-tree, and his smell as Lebanon.


Even now the axe lieth at the root of the trees: every tree therefore that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.


If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.


Thou shalt have olive-trees throughout all thy borders, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast its fruit.


These are the two olive trees and the two candlesticks, standing before the Lord of the earth.
