And he burnt the house of Jehovah, and the king's house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, even every great house, burnt he with fire.


I am thine, save me;\par\tab For I have sought thy precepts.

So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture Will give thee thanks for ever:\par\tab We will show forth thy praise to all generations.\par


I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake; and I will not remember thy sins.


For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him; I hid {\i my face} and was wroth; and he went on backsliding in the way of his heart.


And foreigners shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favor have I had mercy on thee.


Thy holy people possessed {\i it} but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary.


We are become as they over whom thou never barest rule, as they that were not called by thy name.\par


For he said, Surely, they are my people, children that will not deal falsely: so he was their Saviour.


O Jehovah, correct me, but in measure: not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.


Go, and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith Jehovah; I will not look in anger upon you; for I am merciful, saith Jehovah, I will not keep {\i anger} for ever.


The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye and your fathers, your kings and your princes, and the people of the land, did not Jehovah remember them, and came it not into his mind?


The Lord hath cast off his altar, he hath abhorred his sanctuary;\par\tab He hath given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces:\par\tab They have made a noise in the house of Jehovah, as in the day of a solemn assembly.


For the mountain of Zion, which is desolate:\par\tab The foxes walk upon it.\par


Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever,\par\tab {\i And} forsake us so long time?


But thou hast utterly rejected us;\par\tab Thou art very wroth against us.\par


And it shall be no more the confidence of the house of Israel, bringing iniquity to remembrance, when they turn to look after them: and they shall know that I am the Lord Jehovah.\par


And I will make your cities a waste, and will bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savor of your sweet odors.


O Jehovah, I have heard the report of thee, and am afraid:\par\tab O Jehovah, revive thy work in the midst of the years;\par\tab In the midst of the years make it known;\par\tab In wrath remember mercy.


Whereas Edom saith, We are beaten down, but we will return and build the waste places; thus saith Jehovah of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and men shall call them The border of wickedness, and The people against whom Jehovah hath indignation for ever.


These are springs without water, and mists driven by a storm; for whom the blackness of darkness hath been reserved.


And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where are also the beast and the false prophet; and they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.\par
