And it yieldeth much increase unto the kings whom thou hast set over us because of our sins: also they have power over our bodies, and over our cattle, at their pleasure, and we are in great distress.


Their heart is as fat as grease;\par\tab But I delight in thy law.


They are inclosed in their own fat:\par\tab With their mouth they speak proudly.


From men by thy hand, O Jehovah,\par\tab From men of the world, whose portion is in {\i this} life,\par\tab And whose belly thou fillest with thy treasure:\par\tab They are satisfied with children,\par\tab And leave the rest of their substance to their babes.


Their eyes stand out with fatness:\par\tab They have more than heart could wish.


Your country is desolate; your cities are burned with fire; your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.


Therefore will the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory there shall be kindled a burning like the burning of fire.


The cities of Aroer are forsaken; they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.


For the palace shall be forsaken; the populous city shall be deserted; the hill and the watch-tower shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;


He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom, {\i and} will gently lead those that have their young.\par


And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me.


And all the hills that were digged with the mattock, thou shalt not come thither for fear of briers and thorns; but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of sheep.\par


They are waxed fat, they shine: yea, they overpass in deeds of wickedness; they plead not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, that they may prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.

And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led captive into all the nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.\par


The fruit of thy ground, and all thy labors, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway;


But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: Thou art waxed fat, thou art grown thick, thou art become sleek; Then he forsook God who made him, And lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
