O ye seed of Abraham his servant,\par\tab Ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones.


Even a heritage unto Israel his servant;\par\tab For his lovingkindness {\i endureth} for ever:


But now thus saith Jehovah that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed thee; I have called thee by thy name, thou art mine.


Thus saith Jehovah, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and I will bring down all of them as fugitives, even the Chaldeans, in the ships of their rejoicing.


Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant, and Israel, who I have chosen:


That saith of Cyrus, {\i He is} my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure, even saying of Jerusalem, She shall be built; and of the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.\par


And except those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.


And except the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh would have been saved; but for the elect's sake, whom he chose, he shortened the days.


For as I passed along, and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription, TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. What therefore ye worship in ignorance, this I set forth unto you.


What then? That which Israel seeketh for, that he obtained not; but the election obtained it, and the rest were hardened:


But {\i it is} not as though the word of God hath come to nought. For they are not all Israel, that are of Israel:


that ye were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.


not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who know not God;
