And he said unto him, I also am a prophet as thou art; and an angel spake unto me by the word of Jehovah, saying, Bring him back with thee into thy house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied unto him.


And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and prosper; for Jehovah will deliver it into the hand of the king.


Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the Lord will deliver it into the hand of the king.


Am I now come up without Jehovah against this place to destroy it? Jehovah said unto me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.


But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? {\i I come} not against thee this day, but against the house wherewith I have war; and God hath commanded me to make haste: forbear thee from {\i meddling with} God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not.


But I know thy sitting down, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy raging against me.


Shall the trumpet be blown in a city, and the people not be afraid? shall evil befall a city, and Jehovah hath not done it?
