Rebuke the wild beast of the reeds,\par\tab The multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the peoples,\par\tab Trampling under foot the pieces of silver:\par\tab He hath scattered the peoples that delight in war.


But my horn hast thou exalted like {\i the horn of} the wild-ox:\par\tab I am anointed with fresh oil.


And I trod down the peoples in mine anger, and made them drunk in my wrath, and I poured out their lifeblood on the earth.\par


Wail, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow {\i in ashes}, ye principal of the flock; for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are fully come, and ye shall fall like a goodly vessel.


Also her hired men in the midst of her are like calves of the stall; for they also are turned back, they are fled away together, they did not stand: for the day of their calamity is come upon them, the time of their visitation.


Because ye are glad, because ye rejoice, O ye that plunder my heritage, because ye are wanton as a heifer that treadeth out {\i the grain}, and neigh as strong horses;


Slay all her bullocks; let them go down to the slaughter: woe unto them! for their day is come, the time of their visitation.


I will also water with thy blood the land wherein thou swimmest, even to the mountains; and the watercourses shall be full of thee.


And thou, son of man, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Speak unto the birds of every sort, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh and drink blood.


Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan.
