a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;


And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?


And they shall not look to the altars, the work of their hands; neither shall they have respect to that which their fingers have made, either the Asherim, or the sun-images.


And ye shall defile the overlaying of thy graven images of silver, and the plating of thy molten images of gold: thou shalt cast them away as an unclean thing; thou shalt say unto it, Get thee hence.\par


For in that day they shall cast away every man his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you for a sin.


The image, a workman hath cast {\i it}, and the goldsmith overlayeth it with gold, and casteth {\i for it} silver chains.


Bel boweth down, Nebo stoopeth; their idols are upon the beasts, and upon the cattle: the things that ye carried about are made a load, a burden to the weary {\i beast}.

They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be as an unclean thing; their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of Jehovah: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels; because it hath been the stumblingblock of their iniquity.


Ephraim {\i shall say}, What have I to do any more with idols? I have answered, and will regard him: I am like a green firtree; from me is thy fruit found.\par


and the stork, the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.


Jehovah will be terrible unto them; for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the nations.\par


Then shall they begin {\b to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.}
