And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; and his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, as the heart of David his father.


Of Zebulun, such as were able to go out in the host, that could set the battle in array, with all manner of instruments of war, fifty thousand, and that could order the battle array, and were not of double heart.


And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind; for Jehovah searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: If thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.


I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, that are present here, offer willingly unto thee.


Praise ye Jehovah.\par\tab I will give thanks unto Jehovah with my whole heart,\par\tab In the council of the upright, and in the congregation.


With my whole heart have I sought thee:\par\tab Oh let me not wander from thy commandments.

And the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw nigh {\i unto me}, and with their mouth and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment of men which hath been taught {\i them};


so shall he sprinkle many nations; kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they understand.\par


And I will give them a heart to know me, that I am Jehovah: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God; for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.\par


And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not returned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith Jehovah.\par


And their prince shall be of themselves, and their ruler shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who is he that hath had boldness to approach unto me? saith Jehovah.


Then washed I thee with water; yea, I thoroughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.


And I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.


and he shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let go the living bird into the open field.


He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with the linen girdle, and with the linen mitre shall he be attired: they are the holy garments; and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and put them on.


And Moses brought Aaron and his sons, and washed them with water.


In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness.


And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: sprinkle the water of expiation upon them, and let them cause a razor to pass over all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and cleanse themselves.


I indeed baptize you in water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit and {\i in} fire:


Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to draw up a narrative concerning those matters which have been fulfilled among us,


Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except one be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.


And they, when they heard it, went out one by one, beginning from the eldest, {\i even} unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman, where she was, in the midst.


And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on his name.


Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right before God.


And such were some of you: but ye were washed, but ye were sanctified, but ye were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God.\par


Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.\par


in whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him.


that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word,


Servants, be obedient unto them that according to the flesh are your masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;


through the hypocrisy of men that speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron;


not by works {\i done} in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,


For the law having a shadow of the good {\i things} to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect them that draw nigh.


Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus,


By faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of the blood, that the destroyer of the firstborn should not touch them.


and to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better than {\i that of} Abel.


Let us therefore draw near with boldness unto the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace to help {\i us} in time of need.\par


And we desire that each one of you may show the same diligence unto the fulness of hope even to the end:


(for the law made nothing perfect), and a bringing in thereupon of a better hope, through which we draw nigh unto God.


{\i being} only (with meats and drinks and divers washings) carnal ordinances, imposed until a time of reformation.\par


For when every commandment had been spoken by Moses unto all the people according to the law, he took the blood of the calves and the goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people,


But let him ask in faith, nothing doubting: for he that doubteth is like the surge of the sea driven by the wind and tossed.


Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye doubleminded.


according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.\par


which also after a true likeness doth now save you, {\i even} baptism, not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the interrogation of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ;
