And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the sojourners of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As Jehovah, the God of Israel, liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.


Now Elisha had spoken unto the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, and go thou and thy household, and sojourn wheresoever thou canst sojourn: for Jehovah hath called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the land seven years.


When he giveth quietness, who then can condemn?\par\tab And when he hideth his face, who then can behold him?\par\tab Alike whether {\i it be done} unto a nation, or unto a man:


Judah mourneth, and the gates thereof languish, they sit in black upon the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.


They have heard that I sigh; there is none to comfort me;\par\tab All mine enemies have heard of my trouble; they are glad that thou hast done it:\par\tab Thou wilt bring the day that thou hast proclaimed, and they shall be like unto me.


{\i seek him} that maketh the Pleiades and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night; that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth (Jehovah is his name);


Thus the Lord Jehovah showed me: and, behold, the Lord Jehovah called to contend by fire; and it devoured the great deep, and would have eaten up the land.


{\i it is} he that buildeth his chambers in the heavens, and hath founded his vault upon the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth; Jehovah is his name.\par


I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the work of your hands; yet ye {\i turned} not to me, saith Jehovah.


Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, the vine, and the fig-tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive-tree have not brought forth; from this day will I bless {\i you}.\par


And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast its fruit before the time in the field, saith Jehovah of hosts.


Ye are cursed with the curse; for ye rob me, even this whole nation.


Jehovah will smite thee with consumption, and with fever, and with inflammation, and with fiery heat, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.
