Dan shall be a serpent in the way, An adder in the path, That biteth the horse's heels, So that his rider falleth backward.


I have hoped for thy salvation, O Jehovah,\par\tab And have done thy commandments.


I have longed for thy salvation, O Jehovah;\par\tab And thy law is my delight.


{\b VAV.}\par\par\tab Let thy lovingkindnesses also come unto me, O Jehovah,\par\tab Even thy salvation, according to thy word.


Behold, as the eyes of servants {\i look} unto the hand of their master,\par\tab As the eyes of a maid unto the hand of her mistress;\par\tab So our eyes {\i look} unto Jehovah our God,\par\tab Until he have mercy upon us.


I wait for Jehovah, my soul doth wait,\par\tab And in his word do I hope.


Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion!\par\tab When Jehovah bringeth back the captivity of his people,\par\tab Then shall Jacob rejoice, {\i and} Israel shall be glad.\par

{\b For the Chief Musician; after the manner of Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.}\par\par\tab My soul waiteth in silence for God only:\par\tab From him {\i cometh} my salvation.


My soul, wait thou in silence for God only;\par\tab For my expectation is from him.


Show us thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah,\par\tab And grant us thy salvation.


Jehovah is my strength and song, And he is become my salvation: This is my God, and I will praise him; My father's God, and I will exalt him.


The wicked is thrust down in his evil-doing;\par\tab But the righteous hath a refuge in his death.


And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is Jehovah; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.


And therefore will Jehovah wait, that he may be gracious unto you; and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for Jehovah is a God of justice; blessed are all they that wait for him.


O Jehovah, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou our arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.


Now therefore, I pray thee, give pledges to my master the king of Assyria, and I will give thee two thousand horses, if thou be able on thy part to set riders upon them.


And I will wait for Jehovah, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.


Jehovah is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.


{\i He is} a trafficker, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loveth to oppress.


But as for me, I will look unto Jehovah; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.

there came Joseph of Arimath\'e6a, a councillor of honorable estate, who also himself was looking for the kingdom of God; and he boldly went in unto Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus.

For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,

For the earnest expectation of the creation waiteth for the revealing of the sons of God.


But if we hope for that which we see not, {\i then} do we with patience wait for it.\par


For we through the Spirit by faith wait for the hope of righteousness.


and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, {\i even} Jesus, who delivereth us from the wrath to come.\par
