Now these are the generations of Terah. Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.


and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and be thou a blessing:


And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.


And God remembered Noah, and all the beasts, and all the cattle that were with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged;


Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and wipe not out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God, and for the observances thereof.\par


And I commanded the Levites that they should purify themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the sabbath day. Remember unto me, O my God, this also, and spare me according to the greatness of thy lovingkindness.\par

though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, they should deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only should be delivered, but the land should be desolate.


How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? {\i how} shall I cast thee off, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? {\i how} shall I set thee as Zeboiim? my heart is turned within me, my compassions are kindled together.


but because Jehovah loveth you, and because he would keep the oath which he sware unto your fathers, hath Jehovah brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.


Remember thy servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; look not unto the stubbornness of this people, nor to their wickedness, nor to their sin,


Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thy heart, dost thou go in to possess their land; but for the wickedness of these nations Jehovah thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may establish the word which Jehovah sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.


and delivered righteous Lot, sore distressed by the lascivious life of the wicked
